Creating the Perfect Routine

Hey my loves,

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a rushed energy and you just feel as if you are constantly chasing your tail?

Well, it might be time to take a look at your routines and decide if they are actually serving you or not.

I have done a lot of experimenting with my routines to help me find the perfect one for me.

Here are my top tips when it comes to creating the perfect routine:

  1. Reflect on Your Priorities: Before diving into crafting a routine, take a moment to reflect on your priorities and goals. What aspects of your life are most important to you? Is it your career, relationships, personal development, or health?
  2. Determine Your Ideal Schedule: Consider your natural energy levels and peak productivity times when designing your routine. Are you an early bird or a night owl? Tailor your schedule to align with your energy patterns.
  3. Set Realistic Goals: Break down your goals into actionable steps and incorporate them into your routine. Whether it's learning a new skill, exercising, or working on a personal project, dedicating specific time slots will ensure consistent progress.
  4. Include Regular Breaks: To maintain focus and prevent burnout, incorporate regular breaks into your routine. Short breaks throughout the day can rejuvenate your mind, boost creativity, and improve overall productivity. Use this time to stretch, meditate, or engage in activities that bring you joy.
  5. Prioritise Self-Care: Self-care is crucial for maintaining overall well-being. Allocate time in your routine for activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul. It could be anything from reading, practising mindfulness, enjoying a hobby, or spending quality time with loved ones. Remember, self-care is not selfish; it's essential for long-term success.

It’s also so important to remember that what works for you in terms of routine can change depending on the season of life you are in. Something might work for a while but then you may find it harder to keep up or it might start feeling a bit stagnant. Don’t be scared to switch it up here and there.

To help you dive deeper here are some journaling prompts to help you get clear on how you feel:

  1. What activities or hobbies bring me joy and fulfilment? How can I incorporate them into my routine?
  2. What time of the day do I feel most energised and focused? How can I align my routine with my natural energy patterns?
  3. Are there any habits or activities that are currently draining my time and energy? How can I minimise or eliminate them?
  4. What self-care practices do I currently engage in? How can I expand and prioritise self-care in my routine?
  5. How can I ensure a healthy work-life balance within my routine?
  6. What steps can I take to maintain consistency and accountability in sticking to my routine?
