It’s officially a new month & that means setting new intentions for the month that lays ahead.
I don’t know about you but going into a new month makes me so excited! I love that new month energy and all the potential that comes with it 🌈✨🦋🌙
Not only is it a new month, but it’s a new season! We officially say goodbye to Summer (here in Australia) and hello to a new season, and you know your girl loves a new season!
So today I wanted to write to you and chat all about new month intentions, how I set mine and why I feel it’s important to do so!
I just want to preface this with an important reminder… whilst a new month brings lots of opportunities, I don’t want you to ever feel guilty for maybe not setting intentions, not sticking to them or not really knowing what they are on the 1st of the month.
People tend to get so down on themselves if they don’t start absolutely killing it at life on the first of a year, or a month or even a Monday. Just be kind to yourself, remind yourself it’s never too late to start & remember you are human, you will slip, you will fall but you can always pick yourself back up.
Okay so on that note, let’s kick off with why I make intentions each month:
I love writing intentions and being purposeful with how I want to feel, what I want to happen & the 'vibe' of the next month. Purposeful intention, checking in with yourself & consistent action is how you're going to make magic and get to where you want to be ✨ It helps me stay focused, aligned & motivated to reach my goals.
Before I tell you about how I go through this process I wanted to talk about reflection. Before I look forward to a new month I like to look back on the month that’s been and ask myself things like:
- What did I do that I was proud of?
- What could I have done differently?
- What was my vibe for the month?
- What was my biggest achievement this month?
- What’s a habit/routine I want to take into the next month?
- What is something I am leaving behind me from last month?
This helps me bring the good with me, and leave the not so good behind me - then I can go into the next month with a clear mind and a clean slate.
Okay so how do I set my intentions for the next month?
I have a very specific process I go through when writing out my monthly intentions. I like to feel as grounded, centred and flowy as possible. I really like to step into my feminine energy so the ideas just flow to me.
I want you to make a quiet spot, light a candle, get your crystals, have your fave playlist on, maybe even sage your area and really be intentional with what you do, how you do it and what energy you create in your space.
This will really help set the scene so you can start looking within, reflect & listen to your intuition.
I also like to pull some cards, this helps me confirm where my head should be, what direction I should be taking and what my higher purpose is for the month.
It’s crazy because the cards I pull are always so on point. *well not that crazy since that’s the point of cards, but I am new to this so I’m always so surprised*
You may want to write down specific goals or you may just want to write down what your intentions are for the month, what kind of vibe you are going for and what kind of person you want to show up as.
For example, my March vibe is: ease, flow & tapping into my creative side 🦋 This month I'm leaning into going with the flow, listening to my intuition, taking the path of least resistance & letting myself dream big 💭 I recently booked in a spontaneous romantic getaway for Tim & I, my March vibe is very ‘let’s just have fun & be in the moment’, which is different for me!
If you’re feeling stuck you can try using these prompts to get you started:
- This month I will feel…
- This month I will achieve…
- This month I will show up like…
- This month my vibe is…
Good luck setting your intentions GF, and here’s to a new month, a new season and plenty of new opportunities. 🦋 I hope it’s filled with lots of magic for you!
